A "Wedding Wonderland"
Last year I had the honor of producing the wedding movie of a terrific couple and a loyal client. Erich and Kelly got married beneath the beautiful slopes of Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe at the PlumpJack Inn. Erich's sister was one of our very first clients, as was her husband's sister (did you follow that?) Erich and Kelly's wedding was a winter wonderland fairytale (thus the inspiration for the title, "Wedding Wonderland.") It was the kind of wedding every girl dreams about (I've been told girls dream about their wedding day). She was stunning and he was dapper as can be. It was the perfect setting for a perfect movie.
As is our usual style, we edited the opening highlights sequence first, then posted it for friends and family to share. I designed it to play like a movie trailer. (I like to add to the drama. It's all in the presentation you know.) Anyway, this is the original opening:
Admittedly it was more dramatic and sweeping than the light-hearted, romantic comedy style in which I edited Erich's sister's wedding. They loved the piece, but wondered if we couldn't do something more "light." The customer service gene in me kicked in, and I gladly obliged to create a revised version.
This next version was the one that ended up in the final movie. (We included the original on the DVD as a "Deleted Scene.") This exercise was a testatment to the power of editing:
So, there you have it. The same wedding. Two completely different takes on it. Just for fun, let us know which one tickles your fancy.
For a movie trailer, I like the drama...it seems more "Hollywood." But for my personal collection, I'd probably opt for the second more light-hearted style. I love them both though!

I couldn't get the plug-ins to load. I'll try again in a little while when my kids aren't nipping at my heels...
Wish I would have had someone do OUR wedding like your work, though!

Hi Simran,
I'm sorry you couldn't see the clip. You'll need Windows Media player installed to see the clips. Here's the link to download it (they have mac versions too):
