Here's the first episode of Tasra's Real Women Scrap TV. Let us know what you think. If you have trouble viewing this video, watch the YouTube version at RealWomenScrap.tv.
Many of you know that my wife is the author of the award-winning book "Real Women Scrap: Create the Life and Layouts You've Always Wanted." (Available from Dare Dreamer Press). It's a motivational book that uses scrapbook lessons as a metaphor for life lessons. The book is getting incredible buzz in the scrapbook world and Tasra is speaking at events and book signings around the country. (How cool is that? I'm married to a star!)
Now I'm proud to announce that starting Wednesday, March 14, we're launching the weekly video podcast Real Women Scrap TV. Each month will be a new series that brings you a scrap lesson, life lesson, profiles of real women, and news and reviews. Series 1, "Getting Organized," starts this Wednesday. Set your internet "channels" to www.realwomenscrap.tv.
If you are a scrapbooker (no matter what skill level), this book and podcast are for you. If you're a career woman or busy mom who seems over-worked and over-extended, with little time for yourself, this book and podcast are for you. Our goal is to help you get back to your roots and connected to that which makes you happy in life. We hope they both can be an inspiration to you and your loved ones.
Here's the promo we made for the show. Enjoy. (And be sure to share the video with everyone you know who can benefit from this positive message.)

As a video production company, we are in the business of recording memories. We are invited to participate in personal events like weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthdays, and turn the memories from those events into beautiful movies. Or, we're given the honor to highlight the life of a loved one passed through a touching memorial video. Well, another way you can record and relive special memories is through scrapbooking.
My wife and business partner Tasra (pronounced TOZ-ra) finished writing a book this summer entitled Real Women Scrap: Create the Life and Layouts You've Always Wanted. In addition to giving great scrapbooking tips, it also uses those tips as a metaphor for life lessons. It's designed for the over-worked, over-commited woman who needs to take a breather from life and relish in what she has: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Cinematic Studios even lauched a publishing division, Dare Dreamer Press, to publish the book.
Last week we were excited to get an email from our PR firm saying that Tasra would get a guest segment on the local NBC affiliate morning news program with Laura Garcia-Cannon. The segment was originally scheduled to air last Wednesday, November 8. We made the long 2-hour trek to San Jose the night before so we'd be able to arrive bright and early. Then the next morning we got word that Tasra was bumped by the President's press conference (I guess if you're going to get bumped by somebody, it might as well be the President of the United States).
Since we had made the journey, NBC let us come in and tape the segment anyway. We did, and it turned out great. We tuned in the next morning to see it. No show. So, we tuned in Friday. Still nada. We were worried it would be lost forever in the annals of other aspiring authors bumped by more important people. That's showbiz, right? Then yesterday, near the end of the program, it aired! So, here it is. Click the image below to play.
